Key Takeaways – Logz.io Named a Visionary in 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring and Observability

Logz.io Named a Visionary in 2022 Gartner Magic Quadrant

I’m thrilled to announce today that Logz.io has been named a Visionary in the 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Application Performance Monitoring and Observability.

Gaining this recognition from these leading industry experts, in my opinion, is an outstanding accomplishment for our entire organization – the product of years of hard work and putting the needs of our 1,300-plus customers first. We’re extremely grateful to our customers for their confidence, as we believe your feedback undeniably played a role in our breakthrough 2022 Magic Quadrant placement.

When we founded Logz.io, more than 7 years ago, we started by addressing pervasive challenges related to logs management problems; over time, our customers asked us to expand our solution to include in-depth security analytics, as well as to correlate logs, metrics and traces to enable a complete observability view.

Over the last 2 years, our efforts to deliver on this complete “full stack” observability vision has come to fruition, and we’ve successfully helped over 1300 customer organizations better address their challenges around monitoring and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes and other key components of the modern applications ecosystem. This new recognition is especially exciting as it further validates our expansion into the application layer – correlating application performance issues with infrastructure and security insights.

Being named as a Visionary in the mature, longstanding space for APM and observability, we see validation of some core elements of our commitment to making what is often a complex, cumbersome, and often-costly process easier and more cost-effective. We do everything we can to meet customers where they are, to provide them with the best, enterprise-grade observability platform experience possible.

To that end, I wanted to share some of the key takeaways from the 2022 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring and Observability, along with Logz.io’s placement in the influential report, and where we see the market moving ahead.

Observability Data Management and Savings You Can Use

Using Logz.io’s Data Optimization Manager, organizations can significantly reduce the impact of costly and noisy data to elevate their most important results and drive down related monitoring costs. With Logz.io’s Cold Tier, less valuable or aging log data can be better organized to balance availability, performance, and cost. We know these are hugely important value drivers as we speak to customers about these issues every day.

Similar to how customers can reduce their overhead and allocate their resources more efficiently with Logz.io’s observability platform, cost-effective data management is critical to getting the most out of your observability and APM capabilities.

The APM and observability industry has operated for many years on the fundamental idea that all data is created equal and thus must be collected so that vendors can use all that data to drive insights. However, the market has changed drastically. Microservices have emerged, and environments have grown increasingly more complex. An explosion in data hasn’t translated to an explosion of the value of that data.

If you are shipping all your data, when so much of it is noise, you’re not getting the value you deserve. Logz.io’s key differentiation is grounded in how we help customers find the data that really matters. We help you scrutinize the data that needs to be analyzed, or indexed, or stored in case of an emergency. By doing this, your organization can improve MTTR, the effectiveness of your environment, and reduce your TCO.

Our Commitment to Open Source Has Never Been Stronger

The use of open source throughout our observability platform remains a differentiator, specifically highlighting that we help customers with existing investments in those capabilities better understand and utilize all the various components of those tools.

We’re on record as doubling down, and our commitment has never been stronger. We believe that if given a choice, engineers will always choose open source because of its flexibility and global community support. But the gaps in open source become apparent as organizations attempt to scale their use and observability becomes more strategic, and addressing those challenges remains one of Logz.io’s significant opportunities.

In order to reduce your overhead, and get the most out of your talented engineering resources, you need a partner who knows open source in and out, and will ease the burden of maintenance and management of your observability environment.

The Multi-Cloud, Geographic Footprint You Need

Our ability to support customers’ wide geographic diversity when it comes to global SaaS service resilience and data sovereignty. Logz.io has at least two service-delivery platforms in North America, EMEA, and the APAC region distributed across two cloud providers–Microsoft Azure and AWS.

We take a multi-cloud approach and provide native solutions to companies that want to run on Azure or AWS. Additionally, we help cut down the cost of shipping data from cloud to cloud.

For enterprises running their stack in different localities, the cost of overhead can pile up significantly when different instances are required to be set up to call data in those different locations. With Logz.io, that process can be dramatically simplified with a click of a button for each locality. It’s another example of Logz.io making the process of APM and observability that much easier.

We’ve built a platform on an open, simplified approach that gives engineers, DevOps, and security professionals exactly what they need to meet the challenges of APM and observability in 2022 and beyond.
