Technical visionary to further embrace strategic leadership of observability market alignment, including industry partnerships and open source efforts

BOSTON and TEL AVIV, March 22, 2023Logz.io, provider of the industry’s most efficient, simple-to-use observability platform, based on open source, today announced that company co-founder Asaf Yigal will now undertake the critical role of chief technology officer, with responsibilities spanning product vision and technical evangelism as well as strategic and business partnerships.

Logz.io’s Open 360 Platform unifies log, metric and trace data into a single platform to provide full “360 degree” visibility into the health and performance of today’s complex cloud applications and infrastructure. Open 360 is based on leading open source observability technologies, including OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Jaeger. Logz.io further enhances these technologies with numerous AI-based capabilities and simplifies their use to reduce the total cost of ownership of observability and to reduce Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR).

For over seven years, Yigal has spearheaded Logz.io’s product vision and delivery as its vice president of product, enabling the company to establish a unique position in the market as the only unified platform based on open source. In his new role, he will focus significant emphasis on working directly with customers and the industry at large to broaden the awareness and uptake of this approach.

Recent innovations such as Logz.io’s integration of generative AI to rapidly deepen available observability context and delivery of industry-leading data and cost management capabilities are hallmarks of Yigal’s effort to help make observability simpler and more cost effective.

“Today’s companies are striving for business agility but find themselves overwhelmed by data volume and complexity; most users are receiving too little insightful information, too late,” said Yigal. “At Logz.io we are focused on changing that and on amplifying the value of leading open source solutions. I look forward to helping our customers and the industry at large to address this challenge as CTO.”

Yigal noted that his expanded responsibilities will include everything from seeking out new integration partners to furthering engagement with the worldwide open source community.

“First, I’m eager to develop partnerships with providers who are adjacent to us in the market ecosystem to build out innovative, holistic solutions that offer value to our mutual customers,” he said. “Secondly, this CTO position is unique in that it bridges the gap between product development and marketing, giving me the rare opportunity to tell the story but also stay well connected to our engineering team. And thirdly, we’re a company that is committed to open source, which is a passion of mine, and I look forward to driving more active participation in the open source community.”

Yigal has served as vice president of product at Logz.io since the company’s founding in 2015. Prior to that, he co-founded and served as vice president of product at Currensee for six years, leading development of the company’s decision-making network for expert securities traders until it was acquired by OANDA in 2013.

Since its inception, Logz.io has established a track record of significant growth, consistently adding headcount in Boston, Tel Aviv, London, Kiev and other remote office locations around the globe. With staff currently operating across three continents, Logz.io continues to pursue rapid expansion, with many local and remote open positions across sales, marketing, support and more.
