This coming Saturday, Sept. 30, is International Podcast Day. It’s a medium that as little as 15 years ago had a very small footprint in the information landscape. Now, it’s hard to imagine our lives without them.
Whether you want to get informed on a current event, discover stories of the past that may have been missed, or laugh along with your favorite hosts, podcasts fill our ears with sounds and our minds with knowledge.
In honor of International Podcast Day, we wanted to turn the lens back towards our favorite subjects: open source and observability.

DevOps Paradox
Hosted by Viktor Farcic and Darin Pope, DevOps Paradox attempts to answer the eternal question: what is DevOps? Recent episodes focus on Kubernetes, end-to-end encryption, cloud services and more.
Data Engineering Podcast
Tobias Macey is the host of Data Engineering Podcast, the “show goes behind the scenes for the tools, techniques, and difficulties associated with the discipline of data engineering” in their own words. Databases, workflows, automation, and data manipulation are just some of the topics that are covered on the podcast.
Kubernetes Bytes
Kubernetes Bytes is a podcast bringing you the latest from the world of cloud native data management. Hosts Ryan Wallner and Bhavin Shah come to you from Boston, Massachusetts with experienced backgrounds in cloud-native tech. They share their thoughts on recent cloud native news and talk to industry experts about their experiences and challenges managing the wealth of data in today’s cloud-native ecosystem.
The Humans of DevOps
Host Eveline Oehrlich dives intothe human aspects of DevOps. “The human element in DevOps is often the differentiator that helps an organization achieve its goals and to be able to compete in a disruptive and digital landscape,” according to the podcast description. She hosts members of the DevOps community from all walks of the world.
The Changelog
Hosted by Adam Stacoviak and Jerod Santo, the Changelog podcast bills itself as “software’s best weekly news brief, deep technical interviews & talk show.” Recent topics include the definition of open source, the complexity of endless microservices, artificial intelligence, and HashiCorp’s decisions to change Terraform’s open source licensing.
The Craft of Open Source
Hosted by Ben Rometsch, Co-Founder and CEO of Flagsmith, The Craft of Open Source is a bi-weekly show “focused on the ins and outs of the Open Source Software Community. Join Ben as he speaks with the brightest minds that have brought us some of the most adopted technologies on earth. Each episode is an interview with creators, maintainers, entrepreneurs, and key contributors to the open source community.”
OpenObservability Talks
Perhaps we’re a tad biased, but this is a podcast we really love. Logz.io sponsors OpenObservability Talks hosted by our own Principal Developer Advocate Dotan Horovits.
