Senior Director, Production

About Logz.io

In this position, you will be responsible for the Logz.io production environment, which is running in multiple regions across multiple clouds, processing petabytes of logs, metrics, and traces with 99.95 SLA. You will be managing two high-performing teams, across two time zones, and work on prioritizing tasks, manage incidents, manage compliance, handle all communication and be the internal and external appointee for all production-related manners.

Responsibilities

  • Build and mentor a team of highly skilled professional engineers, production engineers, and team leads. Aspire to hire and grow in-house top talent
  • Build and implement short, intermediate and long-term roadmaps for maintenance and scaling of the Production environment
  • Maintain a high throughput, multi-region, multi-cloud infrastructure and services that form the Logz.io production and staging environments
  • Collaborate with other groups in Engineering and Product to build the right infrastructure to support all Logz.io features
  • Manage high-scale open-source services such as Elasticsearch, Kafka, and Kubernetes
  • End-to-end ownership the Production environment and its services, ensuring that it is highly available to our customers and supports their critical flows
  • Work with other functions across the company like Customer Success and Sales to support our customers’ needs and growth
  • Make key decisions to ensure the successful implementation of all initiatives
  • Head the Logz.io compliance and certification efforts, yearly maintaining our SOC2, PCI-DSS, ISO27001, and HIPAA 

    • Requirements

  • B.Sc. degree or higher in Computer Sciences or a related field
  • 5+ years of proven hands-on production-grade operational experience 
  • 3+ years of experience in managing high performing engineering teams
  • 3+ year of experience in managing managers
  • Deep understanding of best practices in scalable server-side architecture
  • Experience with large-scale SaaS production services and databases
  • Experience with Big Data technologies (Elasticsearch / Kafka)Experience with modern technologies and public clouds (Kubernetes, AWS, Azure)Ability to design, research and implement large projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
