Logz.io is currently building the most advanced log analytics SaaS platform in the market, based upon popular, cutting edge, open source technologies. We’re looking for a highly motivated, Java Backend Team Lead to join our fast growing Kyiv product startup! As a Java Backend Team Lead you'll be involved in end-to-end activities, from design and architecture, through coding, testing, and up to deployment and monitoring, using the most advanced technologies and methodologies out there. You will also be expected to harness your experience to shore up the technological leadership of the Engineering organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product and technical leaders to build a compelling vision and roadmap for your team
  • Design and implement features and end-to-end product modules
  • Hands-on coding
  • Manage real-time services, addressing growing scale and micro-services architecture
  • Own the team’s services end-to-end ensuring that we are highly available to our customers and support their critical flows
  • Work with Engineering and service engineering stakeholders across Logz.io to drive the team's vision and execution forward in a timely, efficient manner
  • Making key decisions to ensure the successful implementation of all initiatives
  • Build and mentor a team of highly skilled professional backend engineers. Aspire to hire and grow in-house top talent
  • Requirements

  • B.Sc. degree or higher in Computer Sciences or a related field
  • 5+ years of proven hands-on production-grade development experience 
  • 3+ years of experience in managing development or mixed engineering teams
  • Deep understanding of best practices in scalable server-side architecture
  • Experience with large-scale SaaS production services and databases
  • Experience with Big Data technologies (Azure / Elasticsearch / Kibana)
  • Ability to design, research and implement large projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Committed, striving toward goals and accountable for results
  • Proven track record of hiring and managing high performing engineering teams
