FinOps Engineer

About Logz.io

In this role, you will help logz.io bridge the gap between R&D operations and finance - breaking the barriers of understanding our cloud cost. As a FinOps Engineer, you will consult to our infrastructure R&D teams for the technical cost KPI. You need to develop a deep understanding of our microservices-based distributed platform and all architectural designs of the cloud environment, Identify trends, anomalies, recommendations, implement automated tools and more. You will be working in a multi-tenant, multi-region, multi-cloud environment which poses a great challenge optimizing our cost per tenant.

Responsibilities

  • Have a thorough understanding of our architecture
  • Work with the financial teams on budget, forecast and expenses reports for everything related to hosting
  • Implement and manage automated tools to help identify cost trends and anomalies
  • Consult regarding cloud usage and cost optimization
  • Work on a cost-per-tenant model
  • Analyze the cost of our major cloud providers - AWS and Azure
  • Partner with the development and support teams to reach financial responsibility

    • Requirements

  • Proven experience in hosting related areas like Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), networking architecture and monitoring tools - Must
  • Analytical skills and control of the major data analysis tools - Must
  • Experience in a multi-tenant SaaS environment - Big Advantage
  • Good infrastructure understanding, and hands-on production experience
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Coding experience in Python and Java - Advantage
  • Deep understanding of public clouds pricing - Advantage
