About The Position

As a Senior Architect at Logz.io, you will join a new team of architects. The team’s main goal is to define and establish Logz.io’s technological roadmap and to steer the hyper-growing Engineering organization onto it. 

The Logz.io platform is currently spread across 3+ products based on 50+ micro-services running in 10 regions on two infrastructure providers… and growing. All this while accommodating 5-10x YoY scale in terms of overall data processed. Getting there, while keeping our existing customers satisfied, is an on-going process, based on our core engineering value of Continuous Improvement. 

The position involves day to day interaction with the Engineering Team, Product Management, and Customer Success.


Responsibilities

  • Be involved in the feature roadmap and provide technological consultancy.
  • Help steer the Technical Roadmap & Architecture by:

*Shaping infrastructure-based solutions together with the team in an incremental process

*Encouraging alignment of features to the Architecture Roadmap

*Accompanying major infrastructure components from design brainstorming to deep code reviews and preparing the relevant ones to be open-sourced

  • Help evolve our Open Source Where Possible approach in each feature to achieve clean code, design, and architecture, and strengthen our engineering brand.
  • Build a strong engineering department and brand by encouraging knowledge sharing through conferences and meetups, including international conference appearances, and blog posts.
  • Promote clean code and architecture by example through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay up-to-date with the technological ecosystem and encourage usage of new/better frameworks, architecture patterns and ideas to move the architecture and system to a better place.


Requirements

  • Proven experience in building large-scale, highly-available, high throughput web applications and services using the Java/JVM ecosystem.
  • Extensive knowledge of frameworks and libraries in the Java ecosystem.
  • Experience in solving performance issues in production, both JVM related and other commonly used technologies.
  • Up-to-date knowledge on new methodologies, frameworks, and tools as they emerge in the industry with the aim to introduce them to the organization as part of the Technical Roadmap.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Community involvement: meetups, people, conferences, etc.
